Bonpoint, 40 years old and still has a child’s spirit…

The bonpoint house celebrated its 40th anniversary this year; a perfect opportunity to revisit this french success story through a children’s world. a recognisable style that is exported internationally, showing over all these years, the same couture standard and a genius mix of classism and modernity, attracting mums and vips. a fashion for everyone little, that knew to grow up with a children’s spirit! meet christine innamorato the artistic director.interview from christine innamorato:it’s first and foremost a family story of two sisters who couldn’t find clothes to dress their children to their taste. so they designed collections in aix en provence in a cherry orchard where the little bonpoint cherries come from. celebrating 40 years just shows that before anything else we are a generational house, 4 decades ago, the mothers who are 40 years old today were dressed in bonpoint when they were little so it is quite touching. i love reworking the classics and mixing the classics with the modernity of today, that’s very important. in the collections i didn’t want to be super nostalgic and look backwards so i love taking the house’s iconises but reworking them in new materials, in new colour codes. it has really been about firing up bonpoint’s liberty print collections from 1975 and actually i like reworking this liberty print, which is very exclusive to us, meaning to really go back to the start and to re reprint it and rework it all. we talk a lot about our chic style and attitude and i really believe in that for both for adults and children so there’s a way of wearing and combining the clothes and that’s so chic for me. before everything, the key to bonpoint’s success is the creation and a real team effort over many years with a fantastic team of ateliers and all their knowledge. music free from the right / bandit & nikit 2015
