Jan Marchant will become the new CEO of Tesco’s F&F, the brand of affordable clothing essentials for the family.

Her appointment was first reported by Retail Week after seeing an internal staff memo.

Marchant has been promoted from within the company, having joined Tesco in 2002. She has served as creative and digital director of F&F since 2017 and acted as interim CEO of the range since Price’s departure.

Clothing sales at the supermarket giant dropped by as much as 20% in the 13 weeks to May 30 as shoppers prioritised buying food and household provisions.

Tesco’s clothing division has been estimated to make annual sales of over £1 billion.
