Sessùn, the French womenswear label that’s been making waves in the premium-contemporary womenswear market, is to enter the UK towards the end of next month with its first directly-operated store.

Sessùn's latest Paris store

The company will be opening in an area that’s a popular pick for labels of its type with a debut in Marylebone on the High Street. The new store will cover 80 sq m and will open on August 21.

The company has been heavily focused on openings in its domestic market and debuted in Rennes on Saturday with Beaugrenelle and Strasbourg also due to open next month.

As mentioned, Marylebone is an ideal location for a brand such as Sessùn due to its premium positioning and the ongoing ‘village’ feel of the neighbourhood. Other major names in the area include Margaret Howell, Theory, Seraphine, By Malene Birger, Aspinal of London, Joseph, Oliver Sweeney, Matches and Space NK.

While we have no word yet on exactly what the new location will look like, chances are it will be fairly unique with the company adapting its style to every location it opens in.

Earlier this spring, when it opened in another 80 sq m space at 98, rue Legendre, in the Batignolles district of Paris, founder Emma François told Fashion Network that “we work according to the spaces we find with different architects. We do not want to duplicate the stores, we prefer to preserve the places.”

The company’s stores are mainly concentrated in France for now, although it has expanded to Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.
