Saks Fifth Avenue appoints Roopal Patel new fashion director

Saks Fifth Avenue is once again looking to be more reactive to trends. In that regard it has hired on Roopal Patel as its new fashion director, a position that was empty for a few years.

Roopal Patel is quite familiar with the sector, having worked for many years at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, before creating a consultancy firm in 2012. She also served as executive fashion director of Moda Operandi, the online shopping site.

At Saks Fifth Avenue she will report directly to Tracy Margolies, who took on her position as chief merchant officer in May, and who also worked at Bergdorf Goodman.
