The Italian luxury house, owned by the Kering group, has just announced, this Thursday September 29 2022, the appointment of its new managing director of Gucci Vault and Metaverse Ventures, Robert Triefus, who will take up his position from November 1. He will take over from Nicolas Oudinot, who has been with the French group since 2013 and has been in charge of the Vault project since November 2020.

In his new role, Triefus will focus on the evolution and deployable strategies related to the label's Metaverse Ventures business, which oversees Gucci's Web3 projects. He will also oversee the Gucci Vault online platform, which was launched in September 2021 by his predecessor.

"Robert Triefus' experience and expertise will help shape Gucci's strategy in these strategic areas, which he has helped build, having worked hand in hand with the respective teams, shaping the house's approach and positioning in the gaming and Web3 sectors, as well as in the launch of the Gucci Project Vault," the label said in a statement.

Triefus knows the Italian house inside out. He joined Gucci in 2008 as global director of marketing and communications. In 2012, he was appointed vice president of marketing before becoming executive vice president of brand and consumer engagement in 2018, and then senior executive vice president of Gucci in early 2022, responsible for brand strategy and organization.
