Pitti Uomo, host of the Woolmark Prize men's final

The six finalists of the International Woolmark Prize 2015-16 for menswear will come head to head in Florence during the next Pitti Uomo show taking place 12 to 15 January. The womenswear final will take place in New York.

It's the first time that the Italian menswear trade fair will be hosting the event. The first Woolmark prize for menswear was awarded last year in London, during men's fashion week.

The six finalists chosen by the Woolmark Prize jury for menswear -Munsoo Kwon (Asia), P.Johnson (Australia), Agi & Sam (British Iles), Jonathan Christopher (Europe), Suketdhir (India, Pakistan and Middle East) and Siki Im (US)- will compete for a final time at the next Pitti Uomo session in January. They will present their collections made of merino wool in the historic Villa Favard, which is also home to fashion school Polimoda.

The winner of the men's category will receive 100,000 Australian dollars and will have his creation sold in the world's biggest fashion stores, including Harvey Nichols (London), 10 Corso Como (Milan, Beijing and Shanghai), Saks Fifth Avenue (New York), Joyce (Hong Kong), Isetan Mitsukoshi (Japan), David Jones (Australia) and Matchesfashion.com.
