SANTIAGO, Aug 11, 2007 (AFP) - Clothes of the late Augusto Pinochet are on sale at a central Santiago tailor's shop, but only to customers identified as the Chilean dictator's supporters, local media reported Saturday, August 12th.

Some 20 pieces of Pinochet's wardrobe are on sale at D'Adriany tailor, mainly suits and jackets he wore between 1980 and last year when he died, his elder son Augusto Pinochet Hiriart told the La Tercera newspaper.

"They are the best, modern suits that he used at home or to go out for special activities, though not for special ceremonies," he said.

Each suit is priced at more than 2,000 dollars, the report said.

The tailor shop has only placed a dinner jacket in its window with a sign "For Sale," on it, while the other garments are inside protected by special wrapping.

Pinochet, who died on December 10, 2006, brutally wielded power in Chile from 1973 to 1990, and some 3,000 people were killed or disappeared during his regime.

Many of their families are still seeking justice and he faced a number of human rights-related charges in court up until his death.
