New USA distributor for Kirk & Kirk
Philadelphia company Binocleuses is the new USA distributor for UK eyewear brand Kirk & Kirk, with an exclusive licence. The Pennsylvania company's portfolio already includes two eyewear brands: Brussels-based Belgian brand Matttew and Italian brand Feb 31st, from Bergamo. Another Italian brand, Patty Paillette, is no longer with Binocleuses. From the current season it will be managed directly from Italy by designer Patrizia Shelabarger.
London brand Kirk & Kirk was launched in the USA in 2014, and immediately met with significant success on the local market. At the end of last year, the brand's founders Jason and Karen Kirk toured the USA to add to their 25 years' experience in the industry, visiting the most prestigious independent opticians.
"Karen and I have always enjoyed working with US clients, and we're grateful for the warm welcome our collections have always enjoyed there," said General Manager Jason Kirk.
Meanwhile, the British eyewear entrepreneurs have launched a consultancy business which is operating in the UK only. New-born company Kirk & Kirk Consult was created to offer advice and support to independent opticians, helping them to remain leaders in "a rapidly evolving, competitive market," where the competitors could be "other independent opticians, as well as chains or websites," said Karen Kirk, Jason's wife and the brand's Creative Director.
The British husband and wife team have already provided this type of service in the past, but will now turn it into a fully-fledged, ongoing activity in their country. "We feel our experience can make a difference," they said.
The new company will offer a range of services, including product advice, consultancy on store layout and furnishing, and guidelines on communications and staff training.
The Kirk & Kirk brand is distributed in the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, France, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the Ukraine, Germany, Austria, Greece, Benelux, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the USA, Canada, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
