This Saturday marks World Oceans Day, and Lush Cosmetics is commemorating the occasion by doing its bit for the planet.

The natural beauty brand is releasing a limited-edition ‘Shark Fin Soap' this weekend, alongside a brand new ‘Shark Attack' campaign, as reported by Hello Giggles.

The soap, which comes in the shape of a fin cutting through the water and features Arame Seaweed, Lavender Oil and Lime Oil to soften and hydrate, will see 100% of its sales proceeds directed to the Rob Stewart Sharkwater Foundation. The organization fights for the protection of the underwater predators.

The ‘Shark Attack' campaign involves an online pledge for shoppers in the US and Canada to sign in order to educate themselves and others of the dangers that the decline in shark numbers poses for our oceans.

"We're in the midst of a global climate crisis and sharks play an integral role in maintaining the health of not only our oceans but the planet too," Carleen Pickard, Lush Ethical Campaigns Specialist, told Hello Giggles. "With this campaign, and through the continued work of The Rob Stewart Sharkwater Foundation, we're educating the public on actions they can take before our oceans become unthinkably blue."

Lush is not the only beauty brand focusing on the state of the oceans -- British skincare label teamed up with recycling innovator TerraCycle last year to create a new eco-friendly packaging for its signature "Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Body Wash," containing 20% plastic recovered from oceans, beaches, rivers and lakes. The brand has also partnered with the ocean-focused non profit Surfrider Foundation on an initiative to help protect clean water and healthy, plastic-free beaches.
