The Mode City trade show will be held this year in Lyon (France) from 9th to 11th July. In conjunction with Paris Capitale de la Création, the show has awarded the title of designers of the year 2016 to Lourdes and Augusto Hanimian, founders of the Luli Fama brand.

Luli Fama is Miami-based and was created in 2003 as a partnership by Lourdes Hanimian and her brother-in-law Augusto. Lourdes, nicknamed Luli, was born in Cuba and grew up in Miami. She draws her inspiration from the Caribbean musical beat and from South Beach night-life.

The label features bikinis, monokinis and a beachwear line consisting of kaftans, dresses and pareos, designed with a contemporary style, in a combination of bright colours and exclusive prints created in collaboration with artists.

The designers are taking part in the Miami Mercedez Benz Fashion Week, and have recently launched a sunglasses line called Eye Candy, to round off their looks.

Luli Fama currently generates 40% of its sales overseas, thanks to 600 international clients to be found in Panama, Mexico, Russia, Switzerland, Israel, Greece, France etc., and it also operates a directly-owned store in Doral, Florida.
