Owned by French conglomerate LVMH, Spanish luxury brand Loewe has landed in New York. The house's first store in the city is located at 76 Green Street, SoHo, and opened on Tuesday, December 10.
The new location offers the complete range of the brand's men's and women's ready-to-wear, bags, small leather goods, soft accessories, footwear, glasses and jewelry. The merchandise shares the space with works from six artists that are part of the Loewe collection, which brings together contemporary sculpture and paint, as well as furniture and handmade crafts.
Decorated with natural materials, the space respects the classical architecture of the building, maintaining the original oak floor and reworking the walls with stucco. The store also features some 40 scultpure-like screws that stretch from floor to ceiling, and which take inspiration from Spanish, Portuguese and French cider presses.
The New York store is the brand's second U.S. location, following the opening of its flagship in Miami. The label is also distributed by a range of multibrand stores in the U.S., such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue, in cities including Philadelphia, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Last quarter, Loewe parent company LVMH, which also owns brands such as Dior, Louis Vuitton and Fendi, reported revenues of 13.3 billion euros, up 17% from the prior-year period.
