The house of Karl Lagerfeld on Thursday launched three new limited-edition NFTs (non-fungible tokens), in its latest linkup with hipster street artist Endless.

Lagerfeld’s house unveiled the latest NFT trio with a live spray paint and stencil performance in the garden of its St Germain headquarters on rue Saint Guillaume, celebrating the brand’s latest steps in the digital world.

“Karl as I like to imagine him, clever, creative and endlessly working,” smiled Endless, after completing an instantly recognizable image of the fashion kaiser with signature stiff collar, black tie, shades and powered back hair. The three NFTs feature a new pink super-dandy version of Karl and several new coins, produced in limited editions by the Monnaie de Paris. An edition of 250 pink virtual coins are priced at 150€ ; while 35 blue physical coins costs 1,500€.

Finally, a single unique gold coin with original artwork realized by Endless will set the purchaser back 25,000€. Starting on Friday, all of them will be available for purchase on the Web3 digital fashion marketplace, The Dematerialized.

“I’m excited that our community can now experience the world of Karl through our
NFT journey. Embracing our vision to merge physical and digital creativity, the launch of three new Karl NFTs will push us further into this territory and allow us to connect with a new community of collectors through a one-of-kind experience,” said Karl Lagerfeld CEO, Pier Paolo Righi.

All members of Lagerfeld’s NFT community are granted digital access to exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. Moreover, some of the phygital NFTs were accompanied by a collectable art token that sent to the owner.

Event invitations were also shared with VIP community members, including the seven owners of the first Karl Lagerfeld X Endless NFTs, which sold out within seconds upon their launch in December 2021.

“In creating these new NFTs, I was inspired by Karl’s lifelong commitment to creativity, innovation, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible,” added the artist Endless.

London-based Endless has presented his self-portrait with Gilbert & George at the Uffizi Galleries, making him the first street-artist in history to add his artwork to the permanent collection in the legendary Florentine Museum.

As with the previous launches of the brand’s NFT collectibles, purchasers of the new Karl Lagerfeld X Endless NFTs will be able to interact with the digital Karl in augmented reality environments and share images with the hashtag #PoseWithKarl. All Karl’s NFTs are hosted on The Dematerialized, which operates on the Lukso blockchain and is considered environmentally friendly as it’s a Proof of Stake network.

Furthermore, with every purchase of a NFT, a mangrove tree is planted in Madagascar through the Re:Earth project. A species of tree specifically chosen as it offsets the highest amount of Co2 over its lifetime.
