“'Genderful' encompasses the plurality of an individual’s presented identity, and encourages positivity within the spectrum of gender presentations and expressions,” a press release explained.

To create a collection that speaks to this notion, the designer carefully constructed each piece from the collection with the full spectrum of gender and all body types in mind. Influenced by Altuzarra’s personal style and a reflection of his identity and sexuality, Altu designs are made to embody the fluidity and unique identity of the wearer.

The collection explores the subversive nature of adolescence and how it informs our identities with styles that incorporate traditionally masculine and feminine sartorial codes, but are designed to be worn by all people, subverting the concept of gendered clothing.

The initial release drops this month and offers a range of wardrobe staples including layered hooded sweatshirts, two styles of leather pants as hero pieces, knitwear and dresses. Items reinterpret iconic staple pieces through a genderful lens, inviting exploration and experimentation. Further encouraging inclusivity, the collection is offered in genderful numerical sizes ranging from zero to seven.

Gender-fluid designs have been on the rise over the last decade with more brands considering inclusivity in the way their customers shop and what they buy. Meanwhile, global stars like Harry Styles have been applauded for adopting gender-fluid style, along with others like Billie Eilish.

The collection is now available exclusively on Altu.world and Matchesfashion.com.
