He will receive a Special Recognition Award for Cultural Curation at the event which takes place on 5 December at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Specifically, Hack will be recognised “for empowering youth through creativity and for creating countless opportunities for next generation creatives working across fashion, design, art, music and more, providing a platform and supporting emerging talent”.

As the co-founder of Dazed Media, with a portfolio that includes influential media brands including AnOther Magazine, Dazed, Dazed Beauty and Nowness, “Hack is directly responsible not only for curating culture but building bigger futures for so many people he crosses paths with”, the citation said.

“Over the past three decades, his platform has had an immense impact on culture as we know it, highlighting non-stereotypical topics around gender, race and identity and exploring the boundaries of art, fashion, photography, music and performance”, the BFC also said.

Last year, B Kamara, editor-in-chief of Dazed Magazine, also received the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, citing his “incredible contribution to culture, art, and fashion and his commitment to challenging stereotypes and the status quo”.
