Italian luxury footwear label Santoni has relocated its New York store on Madison Avenue, moving it to number 625 and introducing the new interiors concept first deployed in September at Santoni’s via Monte Napoleone store in Milan, developed by architect Patricia Urquiola.

The interiors’ distinctive element is the geometric pattern designed by Urquiola exclusively for Santoni, inserted as a brass mesh within the brushed walnut wood wall-panelling, and replicated as a modular grille used as display counter for Santoni’s men's and women's shoes.

The  colour palette is also new, with a prevalence of neutral hues and soft shades of orange and blue, like the sky at dawn.

The revamped store is further proof of the US market’s importance for Santoni, which has also decided to manage its business in the country directly, by opening a local subsidiary.

Santoni currently operates 24 monobrand stores, between directly owned shops (as in Milan, Rome, New York, Miami and St. Moritz) and franchised ones (in Paris, Moscow, Tokyo, Osaka, Dubai and New Delhi), as well as an equal number of concessions.

The label is forecasting a slight growth in 2019, after recording a revenue of €82 million in 2018, thanks chiefly to its performance on the US market. Santoni generates 80% of its revenue outside Italy, its main markets being western Europe, the USA and Japan.
