Hugo Boss and W Magazine launched 'The Shot', a photo competition devised to unearth fashion photography's next star. The photographers wishing to take part are invited to submit their entry on the fashion magazine's website by April 30th.

The Shot: a competition to discover tomorrow's photographers.

The global competition is open to all photographers aged 18 and over, and will award the opportunity to shoot on a fashion set for W Magazine's September issue. And also a potential collaboration with Hugo Boss. In addition, a special evening dedicated to the competition will be organised during the New York Fashion Week.

Specifically, photographers wishing to participate will have to submit up to three pictures on W Magazine's website. The pictures will then be judged both by the site's visitors and by a professional jury, that will evaluate their creativity, originality and technique.

The jury will consist of recognised professionals, both from the fashion and photography worlds, such as Stefano Tonchi (editor of W Magazine), Jason Wu (Boss' Creative Director), Inez and Vinoodh (photographers), Charlotte Cotton (curator of the International Photography Centre) and Esmé René (chief photographer at W Magazine).

Regarding the competition, Stefano Tonchi stated: "The magazine has always been a creativity incubator for any photographer willing to take risks and push boundaries. Discovering new talent is part of our DNA: with 'The Shot' we wish to support the next generation of photographers."
