The 675 m2 store will be located at the Crystal Houses building at the P.C. Hoofstraat, the city’s luxury shopping street, which also features Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dior branches.

The new store’s interior will be designed by RDAI-Architecture, the Paris-based agency responsible for the brand identity of all Hermès stores worldwide.

Crystal Houses, the new shop’s building, is designed by MVRDV architects. The building features a replica facade sheet, consisting entirely of glass bricks, with the purpose of retaining the character of the 19th century site.

Hermès first opened a store on the street in 2006, which is still present. The French brand has not yet announced what will happen to the current P.C. Hooftstraat branch.  In 2010 Hermès opened its second point of sale in the Netherlands, a shop-in shop at luxury department store De Bijenkorf.  In 2016 the Bijenkorf branch was renovated, adding more retail space to its total of 160 m2. Additionally, the brand also operates a shop in the city of Maastricht, which opened in 2011, and at the country’s main airport, Schiphol.

An exact date for the 2018 opening, as well as information on the collections the store will carry, is to be announced.
