London’s Carnaby continues to be a magnet for fashion independents with contemporary luxury brand Hayley Menzies choosing the Shaftesbury Capital operated area for its second London store.

The boutique at 8 Newburgh Street measures 640 sq ft hosting a highly curated edit of Hayley Menzies’ “essentials for those embarking on a day out in the city’s shopping district”.

It showcases “a cornucopia of colour, print and artisanal embellishment” with a selection of the season’s ready to wear, while downstairs sees knitwear take up residence in the leopard-lined lounge.

Enormous 1970’s Murano glass chandeliers set the tone for a space while eBay thrift finds sit alongside vast 1920’s brass mirrors from the V&A and a set of Deco brass and glass drinking cabinets purchased from Menzies’ favourite Notting Hill antiques dealer.

Prices start from £7, 0rising to £650+.

Founder and Creative Director Hayley Menzies says: “Soho is my old stomping ground, and Carnaby especially is one of those places that everyone seems to remember fondly with a twinkle in their eye! It feels like the right fit for my brand, with its rock ‘n’ roll rebellious heritage and a place visited to discover innovative brands selling unique and exciting pieces.”

Andrew Price, Executive Director at Shaftesbury Capital, added: “The brand is a great addition to Carnaby’s leading fashion offer and will complement the neighbouring independent brands on Newburgh Street.”
