Givenchy has launched the 'Essentials' collection exclusively for Isetan department store. Riccardo Tisci was invited by the Japanese retailer to design a capsule collection of men's and women's ready-to-wear apparel and accessories, blending Japanese culture with the fashion label's design codes.

Japanese style reinterpreted by Givenchy

In Japan, the collection will go on sale exclusively at Isetan, from 7th to 14th September. It will then be available from end September-early October at Givenchy stores in China, Hong Kong and Macau, eventually reaching Europe at the end of October.

For 'Essentials', Riccardo Tisci has created a mixed wardrobe alternating basic black items jazzed up by references to Japanese style (a huge golden bow tied at the waist, a cluster of stars in the electro style typical of Tokyo youth, traditional Japanese flower arrangements etc.) with signature Givenchy items, blending sportswear and couture.

The collection's advertising campaign highlights this mix of contrasts, featuring models of all ages from the streets of Japan.
