Italian luxury footwear and ready-to-wear label Giuseppe Zanotti is investing heavily to boost its digital capabilities, in terms of both e-tail and omni-channel tools, as its CEO Eugenio Morselli told FashionNetwork.com.

"We have 14 people working in the digital department, and the number will grow. Our e-tail business has been active for 7 years, with year-on-year growth between 50% and 60%. We operate in 35 countries and next January we will launch in Russia and the Arab Gulf states, having opened in Canada two months ago. Of our online revenue, 50% comes from the USA, 30% between the UK, France and Italy, and 20% from the rest of the world," said Morselli. “We are very active on social media, especially on Instagram, where we have nearly 4 million followers, which we are about to hook up to e-commerce.”

In 2018, after running several tests, Giuseppe Zanotti will officially deploy its omni-channel strategy integrating the online and off-line experience. "We will be able to sell online from stores, or draw on our brick-and-mortar network by ordering online and delivering on the same day," added Morselli.

Giuseppe Zanotti currently operates 109 monobrand stores worldwide. Between April and June, the label opened major stores in Tokyo, Singapore, China and Vietnam. In early September, it opened its eighth store in South Korea and by the end of the year it will inaugurate a store in northern China.

"In 2018, we are planning to open our third store in Macau, at the Galaxy Mall, and the fourth in Beijing, at a location where we have already been operating a pop-up store very successfully for six months," said Morselli. "We have an average of ten new openings each year, and in total we work on about twenty new projects per year, including store renovations and relocations."

Giuseppe Zanotti is expecting to close the current fiscal year on 31st October with a revenue of €177 million, up 6% and in line with its forecast. The company headquarters feature a new 10,000 m2 fully integrated manufacturing plant, with an output capacity in excess of 2,500 pairs of shoes per day. Giuseppe Zanotti has 450 employees in Italy and about 750 worldwide.
