FC Barcelona's stores and the distribution of its merchandise is one of its main lines of business. On December 1, the football club strengthened its retail network with the opening of its first Barça Store in Madrid.

FC Barcelona opens its first store in Madrid at the Palacio de Gavira on Arenal street - FC Barcelona

Located in the Gavira Palace on Arenal Street, a stone's throw away from Puerta del Sol, the 190-square-meter store has been designed to highlight the team's colours as well as the city of Barcelona and its most recognisable locations.

FC Barcelona stated in a press release that the ground floor of the store houses the men's and women's collections, while the upper floor is dedicated to the children's lines and product customisation services.

In addition to being the club's first store in Madrid (and outside of Catalonia), it is also FC Barcelona's tenth store, joining those in Camp Nou, Paseo de Gracia, Canaletas, Sagrada Familia, the La Maquinista and La Roca Village shopping centers, a corner in El Corte Inglés and two travel retail spaces in terminals 1 and 2 of the Barcelona airport.

FC Barcelona reclaimed the commercial exploitation of its merchandising rights in July 2018, which until then had been in the hands of the company FCB-Merchandising, wholly owned by Nike. From that moment on, the Catalan football club took over the direct management of its stores through the company BLM (Barça Licensing & Merchandising) with the aim of driving the brand's global expansion, including in the commercial and retail fields.
