Dutch retailer Topshelf has announced that it’s further expanding by opening a sixth megastore. The retailer, which offers fashion, sports and outdoor wear will open its doors in Arnhem, in the former 8,435 m² V&D department store building. V&D went bankrupt in December 2015.

With the Topshelf megastore opening, the retailer hopes to offer job opportunities for former V&D employees.

Topshelf carries brands such as McGregor, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Ray Ban, Speedo, O’Neill, Atomic and Superdry. The retailer announced that in addition to fashion, sports and outdoor wear it will also offer cosmetics, perfumes, travel, homewear, eyewear and back-to-school supplies at the Arnhem branch.

The retailer is currently in talks with other former V&D locations and hopes to come to an agreement in order to offer Topshelf at additional locations in The Netherlands and more centrally located, as current megastores are based outside city centers.

Topshelf was founded in 1995 and opened its first megastore in Leerdam (5,500 square meters). Other branches are based in Beuningen (6,000 square meters), Cruquius (6,500 square meters), Rotterdam (6.000 square meters) and Utrecht (7,500 square meters).

The first two floors of Topshelf Arnhem are planned to open in May. The complete megastore will open in September. Topshelf Arnhem will be located at Johnny van Doornplein 14, Arnhem.
