According to Menno Born, the Dior shop at De Bijenkorf is to be a step in the right direction for Dior as he believes that the department store is “like a magnet,” pointing to the success of De Bijenkorf in a statement to the Dutch newspaper.

Dior opened its first Dutch branch in 2014 with a boutique located in the popular shopping street, P.C. Hooftstraat, in Amsterdam. The French couture house already has a cosmetics counter at De Bijenkorf. In addition to this, the new shop-in-shop will offer leather goods, accessories and footwear.

Simon Goudsmit founded De Bijenkorf in 1870. Since 2011 the department store has been a part of Selfridges Group Limited, a company of the Canadian company, Wittington Investments Ltd. De Bijenkorf currently has 9 branches, including 3 flagship stores, nationwide.

The Dior store at De Bijenkorf is set to open in Summer 2016.
