DC Shoes, Inc. has appointed footwear industry veteran Michael Minter as its Global Head of Marketing. Minter is tasked with marketing the brand's skate heritage story to a new streetwear and lifestyle inspired consumer.

Minter will work out of DC Shoes's Huntington Beach, CA office. He will report directly to DC's Global GM, Mike Jensen.

Minter was most recently the VP of creative at Keen, a role in which he led a complete rebranding of the brand across its digital channels. He also built a content marketing team and launched multiple global campaigns for the brand.

Prior to Keen, Minter was the global marketing and creative director at Billabong, having also served as the global creative director and global director of marketing for Sanuk.

He studied fashion and motion graphics at SCAD, holds a degree in graphic design/advertising from San Diego State, and also studied graphic design at James Madison University.

Minter stated in a release, "The timing is perfect for us to reclaim the undeniable authenticity in skate and street culture that DC has."

DC is under the Boardriders umbrella along with sister brands Roxy and Quiksilver. The Boardriders group recently underwent leadership changes after its former CEO, Pierre Agnès, was lost at sea.
