Coming soon to Paris's Place Vendôme: Chaumet's flagship store will host an exhibition next month showcasing the dream-like monchromatic artwork of Loris Cecchini.

In the run up to the release of a special edition timepiece, designed by Loris Cecchini, the artist will take over the luxury french jewelry and watchmaker's most famous boutique with two all white sculptural art installations.

"I want the space around the creation to be a continuity of the mirage, somewhere between illusion and reality, abstraction and usefulness, fantasy and materiality," explains Cecchini, describing the desired effect he hopes to achieve at the Chaumet store.

The pièce de résistance of the "Resonances" exhibition is the Milanese artist's interpretation of the iconic Class One diver's watch which Chaumet created in 1998.

Cecchini's exclusive Class One design, which will be limited to 300 numbered pieces, features a lace-like mother-of-pearl dial with motifs inspired by the artist's "Wallwave vibration." The timepiece will go on sale in April (6800 euros).

The watch's case is a sculpture in itself, evoking the patterns of water's vibrations, and is presented in a sheaf designed and signed by Cecchini.

Loris Cecchini's sculptures, which are deceptively still at first glance, seem to vibrate on the surface of the wall that holds them. His work has been presented in many galleries and museums around the world such as Paris's Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the MoMa PS1 in New York.

Discover the "Resonances" exhibition between March 12-31 at 12 Place Vendome, Paris, France.
