After nearly three years as vice president for emerging markets at Adidas, Arnaud Jeangirard has taken on the role as Adidas brand director for Southern European markets last month. The German label’s vice president will deploy Adidas' marketing and merchandising strategy in France, Italy, the Iberian Peninsula and Southeast Europe. His role will involve setting up a consistent strategy for the brand in the countries, both with key accounts and in the brand's different formats. In his new Paris-based position, he will report directly to Mathieu Sidokpohou, who since summer 2021 has been managing director of the brand distinguished by its three-striped logo for Southern Europe.

Jeangirard joined Adidas in 2016 from Originals in Dubai (Yeezy and the brand's skateboard brand for the region). He then assumed responsibility as Adidas' brand manager for emerging markets in 2019. Prior to joining the German sporting goods manufacturer, the Frenchman served as product merchandising director at Vans. He spent most of his career at the VF corp skateboard brand, where he started out as marketing manager for France. In between, he spent a year at Carhartt in 2013 as global marketing director.

In addition, head of football athlete activation Julien Lanfrey has left the German group to become athlete marketing global director at video game company EA Sports.

In 2021, Adidas recorded sales growth of 23% to €7.76 billion across the EMA region.
