Pentland Brands has hired three new directors for its Fashion Footwear, Team Sports and Berghaus brands as it continues its push to streamline the group’s operations.

Nicola Mathews, Kevin McFadyen and Charlotte Cox

Nicola Mathews has been appointed Brand Director – Fashion for the company’s fashion footwear division, which includes the Ted Baker and Karen Millen licenses. In this position, Mathews will focus on growing the portfolio of fashion footwear brands following the addition of Karen Millen last month.

She has a wealth of experience growing brands. She was previously commercial director at Karen Millen and has worked across commercial and merchandising roles for the likes of LK Bennett, Hobbs, Lola Rose and Gap.

She is one of three directors heading up Pentland brands, joining Charlotte Cox who has been promoted from Vice President, Strategic Customers at Pentland to Director of the Team Sports brands, Canterbury and Mitre.

Cox has 20 years’ experience across a range of commercial, category, marketing and business development roles. In her previous position at Pentland, she delivered double-digit sales growth across both footwear and active divisions globally.

Finally, Kevin McFadyen has been appointed Brand Director of the outdoor brand, Berghaus. He has strong brand-building experience, having previously worked for O2 and Nando’s.

CEO Andy Long commented on the appointments: “We’ve made significant progress in transforming Pentland Brands; we’re now a simpler business, with a leadership structure designed to give brand directors a more consumer-focused role in leading brand growth."
