New York to host the biggest fashion show in its history in September

New York, April 22 (EFE) - More than 200 models will participate in the biggest parade the city has hosted in its history in September, coinciding with Fashion Week New York, the U.S. Council of Fashion Designers announced.

In front of an audience that is expected to exceed 1,500 people, two hundred models will wear designs for next fall on a runway in the Lincoln Center that have been chosen by the editors of Vogue, organizer of the event, part of the initiative "Fashion's Night Out."

"It's important that people see the wonderful items that will be in stores then," said the director of Vogue, Anna Wintour, in a statement announcing that the show will be held on September 7 and that part of their profits will be dedicated to the fight against AIDS.

Wintour, today joined professionals in the Journal Editors’ Hall of Fame in the United States.

The director of publication launched the initiative “Fashion’s Night Out” last September by convincing more than 300 clothing stores in New York to open until eleven o'clock at night during Fashion Week.

"Fashion's Night Out" was born with the idea of boosting consumption of fashion and will be repeated on 10 September, after fashionistas have seen the big catwalk show.”

The show, which will be held at Lincoln Center, the new home of the Fashion Week in New York, will feature "the best models of the industry," according to organizers, who stressed "the great opportunity to show the exceptional talent of American designers. "

"We believe that this is an unprecedented opportunity for the fashion industry to connect with consumers in a fun but meaningful way," said the president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the renowned fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg.
