Macy’s is poised for a big holiday season. The retailer on Friday opened an Apple store at its Herald Square location and on Monday launched a partnership with Brookstone at 347 locations.

Macy’s introduces Brookstone to macys.com and stores nationwide, offering innovative gift ideas this holiday season; Brookstone Cat Ears Headphones, $99.99

Over 30 Brookstone items will be available at Macy’s stores and online by mid-October. Brookstone products like the Big Blue Mini Wireless Travel Speaker and Wireless Mobile Projector are unique, high-quality products designed to make everyday moments more interesting.

“Brookstone is a brand known for exceptionally innovative products that aim to improve your quality of life and Macy’s is the premiere destination for holiday gifts,” said Tim Baxter, Macy’s Chief Merchandising Officer. “By offering Brookstone at Macy’s – from headphones and speakers to kitchen gadgets or the perfect massage – their extraordinary items will add to our electronic offerings just in time for the holiday shopping season.” The Brookstone product offering ranges in price from $14.99 to $299.99.

The Apple store that opened at Herald Square on Friday marks Macy’s as the first department store to house an Apple retail location. The shop-in-shop is operated by Apple and offers Apple branded products like iPhones, iPads, Macbooks and the Apple Watch including the special Nike branded version.

Macy’s electronics push is part of its plan to partner with other brands for its flagship locations in order to boost sales. The retailer recently partnered with The Finish Line, Best Buy, Sunglass Hut and Lids and announced in September a partnership with beGlammed to provide at-home grooming and makeup services in 22 US cities that the beauty company operates in. Beauty is a huge opportunity for Macy’s; the retailer acquired Blumercury in 2015 for $210 million.

In August, Macy’s reported its sixth consecutive drop in quarterly sales.
