McComb was CEO of Liz Claiborne, Inc., (renamed Fifth & Pacific in 2012) and served on its board for eight years. He led the company's turnaround prepared its transition in management and name to Kate Spade & Company.

McComb also held key management roles at Johnson & Johnson, including company group chairman. He is currently an advisor to Bain & Company’s digital consulting practice and has sat on the boards of the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) and the National Retail Federation (NRF).

McComb holds his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Miami University (Ohio) and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

John Gibbons, Chairman of the Board, said in a statement, “He brings valuable and additive skills to our team, including experience in building... brands through strategic portfolio development in the fashion lifestyle and footwear sectors, as well as evolving direct-to-consumer relationships through digital engagement."

McComb said he has been aware of Deckers' marketing and merchandising for years, adding that he aims "to help them achieve their vision and distinguish themselves in today's omni-channel marketplace.”

McComb will replace John G. Perenchio who resigned from the Board after twelve years of service. Perenchio helped Deckers navigate around a potentially hostile takeover of its Board last year.

McComb is the first of two independent Directors that Deckers has committed to appoint before its 2018 Annual Meeting of Stockholders.

Deckers is based in Goleta, CA. Its brands include Ugg, Koolaburra, Hoka One One, Teva and Sanuk.
